Yes, you can upgrade your website package at any time. You can also add other packages e.g. Blog package or E-commerce package to your current package.

Yes. If you already own a domain name that you would like to use for your new website, you’ll just need to point it to our servers, where the website will be hosted.

We are not a Do-It-Yourself online website builder. We do all the design, build and the techy stuff for you because we’re experts at it.

Everything’s included in one price: hosting, your domain, design, build, launch and support are all included. Typically you’ll have to pay for these elements separately and the cost can build up!

We set up and launch your website for you. We consider a project complete when the website is fully populated with content, it looks great, and it is live. We won’t leave you in the lurch!

We don’t tie you in. If for any reason you want to move your website to another provider you are free to do so, but we’d be sad to see you leave.

We have put together a few website packages that you can choose from. Each one is tailored for a different stage of business (click the links for full website descriptions):

Starter packages:

  • Multi-page website package – great if you have more than one product or service to showcase

Advanced packages:

  • Blog website package – perfect for companies that want to showcase their expertise

Once you’ve selected your package, you can choose to add a blog or get us to design you a logo if you don’t already have one. Then we’ll create you a fantastic website with a Content Management System so you can edit images and text. And that’s not all: we’ll also purchase and set up your domain, set up your email addresses and set up web analytics and hosting – all included in the price.

We like to keep things as simple as possible and find this formula works!

STEP 1 – You tell us what you want. You provide your logo and complete our simple online form to tell us everything we need to know about your business

STEP 2 – We give you first draft designs. We design the website to match your existing logo or brand (or we can design you a logo if you don’t have one!)

STEP 3 – You provide us with site content a page at a time. And our designers will send you links to your pages as they are completed

STEP 4 – You send us final amends. We tweak the site design and content to your specification

STEP 5 – We ensure your site is working across different browsers and devices.

STEP 6 – We launch the site on your chosen domain and tell everyone about it on Social Media

No problem, we have teamed up with our sister company Small Business Logos that can design you a logo from as little as £215. We find that it’s important in most instances to have a logo as a starting point. Occasionally we will design without one upon the customers’ explicit written instruction.

We aim to get first designs back to you within 7 working days, depending on your package [compare our website packages here]. Our designer will work with you to create all the pages to your content requirements, so the final site could take up to a month to complete and will depend upon how quickly you are able to provide content, images and feedback to us.

We work really hard to stick to the following turnaround times:

  • Large content uploads such as whole pages of information and images – 3-4 working days
  • Small text tweaks -1-2 working days

Absolutely! Once the site is live, we pass the controls over to you so you can use our simple website editor to make changes to the text and images. We also provide you with instructions how to do this.

Don’t worry – we can send you a link to a website where you can choose from hundreds of free images.

We specialise in working with start-ups and small businesses and we’ve managed to streamline our process so much that we are quicker and more efficient with both the design and the build. This means we can lower our prices to a level that works for a new small business.

No, we do not charge VAT.

At the end of the first 12 months, you will be invoiced for year 2 at our standard hosting rates so there is no gap in your hosting / domain service. This includes domain renewal, hosting renewal and on-going support.

We will send you an email at the end of month 11 reminding you that renewal will happen shortly and if you want us to cancel it you need to let us know by the end of month 12.

The maintenance fee includes the maintenance of your website (e.g. software updates), technical support and hosting and domain renewals.

It doesn’t include things like:

  • content upload and content changes after your site has been made live (unless you are unable to do so using the CMS we integrate with your website)
  • logo design
  • additional domain purchase and renewal
  • stock imagery that has been purchased by SBW on the express wish of the customer
  • different page layouts requested by the customer once the initial design has been approved
  • fundamental changes to the design requested by the customer once the initial design has been approved
  • functionality beyond html/css (i.e. database/JavaScript)
  • removing ‘Small Business Websites’ from the footer of your website.
  • additional features (forms, gallery, blog etc.)

We’d be really sad to see you leave, but you are not locked into a contract, so we only require 1 month’s written notice to shut the hosting and website down and provide you with the details you’ll need if you want to move the site. Our hosting is reliable and extremely good value for money, so we hope you’ll never need to move!

We build all of our websites on WordPress. It’s one of the best platforms because it’s open source software, which means that the platform is constantly being updated and is fully stable. You can also edit and update the site yourself at any time.

Often abbreviated to CMS, a content management system allows you to edit text and images on your website yourself without getting a developer involved.

We do! Every Small Business Website comes with 12 months’ hosting as standard on our high specification, fully managed, ultra secure servers that are ISO9001, ISO27001 and ISO14001 certified.

The servers that we use are provided by one of the few hosting companies in the UK to be ISO9001, ISO27001 and ISO14001 certified. They are protected by a firewall and we take a daily back-up of all our customer sites.

Yes, your website will be cross-browser compatible meaning it will work well in the latest versions of all major browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Opera.

Yes! Your website is built using responsive design, which means it will shrink to fit whatever device it is being viewed on. This website also uses responsive design. Simply make the browser window smaller to see how the content reconfigures itself to the new shape.

Yes! You need to provide us with details of a Google Account (typically a Gmail/Googlemail email account) and we’ll do the rest!

Yes! We are really hot on SEO best practice so we make sure your site can be crawled by search engines using a search engine friendly site map.

As standard, our websites allow up to 1GB of website space and unlimited traffic per month. However, there’s no limit as to what we can host for you. Just contact us to discuss.

The number of pages depends on your website package, but you can upgrade your package at any time or just add extra pages. You can find more details on this on our Maintenance and Prices page.
